Boycott Proctor and Gamble

P and G is not phasing out animal testing. Instead, it is further developing new animal tests and techniques for its household products and toiletries. Animal experimentation of this kind is bad science - because different species do not react to chemicals in the same ways. It is outrageously cruel - because sensitive animals are forced to suffer and are killed.

Competitors of Proctor and Gamble, such as Loreal of Paris, are demonstrating that they wish to stop testing on animals. Millions have been spent on developing human skin cultures. These are already replacing animals in many tests, and are finding new uses in medicine (such as where skin grafts are needed). Computer simulations are also proving very effective. The many widely-available brands that choose ingredients which have been known to be safe for a long time are proof that there is no need for animal testing.

Please help to tell more people that their consumer choices can make a real difference to animals' lives. "Choose an ethical substitute product and boycott Proctor and Gamble."
