Sunflower Stamp Up-dates

Vegan Sunflower Noticeboard - February 2008

Vegans, please don't buy Ecover yet - approval has been withdrawn but the Vegan Sunflower still remains on some packaging

Ecover's primary concerns are protection of the environment, and not directly the rights of animals. It has come to the attention of the Vegan Society that Ecover have been testing their products on animals to an extent that the Vegan Society has decided to withdraw its stamp of approval. The Vegan Society seek to uphold the highest possible standards, in the interests of people, animals and the environment. Ecover have shown willingness to change their quality control and safety tests so that they will meet the standards insisted upon by the Vegan Society in the future. However, in the meantime, there are now many brands of washing detergent which do bear the Vegan Society stamp.

Vegans, please don't buy Vitalite yet -
it's still not ready for you.

Dairy Crest apologise to Vegans
for their product, Vitalite, still not being available
in a Vegan-friendly form.

They had intended to have a Vegan version
of Vitalite on the market by now,
but the launch has been delayed because
it failed to meet the manufacturer's quality standards.

Dairy Crest apologise for any confusion caused to Vegans
who may be looking out for Vegan Vitalite in the shops.

Dairy Crest and the The Vegan Society hope to offer
Vitalite suitable for Vegans as soon as possible.

There are, of course, already quite a few quality
margarines suitable for Vegans.

But the more the merrier (those of us who once
enjoyed Vitalite in the past will look forward to
being able to eat it once more).

Wait for further bulletins from the Vegan Society.
Vegan-friendly Vitalite is on its way.

Thank you, Dairy Crest!
