Carol Mercer and daughter Sophie Hyde opened their restaurant in
Lewes 20 years ago. They cook food for people who care about what they
eat. Two thirds of their menu is vegan, and most ingredients are
organic, local and fairly traded.
Opening hours are Tuesday to
Saturday 10 am to 5 pm
Always a vegan soup, main course
and sweet cooked daily on the premises. Individual frozen
vegan-meals are also made to take-away. Beverages are served, including
organic fair-trade coffee with soya milk, if seats are free and you would
just like a drink.

Directions
Towards the top of School Hill, High Street, within sight of the Angels' War Memorial. It is on the same side of the road as the Town Hall and old Market Tower, opposite Lewes House and the Thebes Gallery. Climb down the steps into this kitchen parlour's warmth and friendliness.
