Southern Water supply tap water to about 3/4 of Lewes, and deal with all waste water. No animal ingredients are used in water treatment, nor products tested on animals. Southern Water own extensive lands, and anyone wishing to graze animals on them must first obtain a grazing license. Southern Water uphold the highest animal welfare standards enforceable under EU and UK Law. Working in partnership with the Environment Agency, they help to provide for the hydration needs of all species.

Hidden behind trees, between the playing fields on the southern side of Lewes, you might not even notice the place if you take the cyclle track to the Stanley Turner Ground from Cockshut Lane beside the Priory. But you don't need to know where its pumped from to enjoy the product. (Their administration is now based in Worthing, West Sussex.)
