Grey Squirrels Condemned In The Countryside

Large numbers of grey squirrels are being killed in the UK at the moment. Their extermination is excused as the answer to conservation of wildlife problems by those who do not want this variety of species on their land. The Ark Wildlife Hospital at Milton Keynes refutes that grey squirrels are to blame for the destruction of trees and song birds, and are petitioning the Government to call a halt to the cruel culling.

Why be different?

Being Vegan is about adhering to dietary ethics. From the outset, those who first formed the Vegan Society decided to put moral principles before any perceived self-interest which might be gained through causing suffering to other creatures. Because Vegans are also self-respecting, developing nutritional knowledge (and acting in accordance with it) has remained a high priority. That being said, the Vegan Sunflower Mark only indicates that a product is free from animal ingredients. Vegan products may still contain substances permitted under the UK's liberal and retrospective regulations which are injurious to the health of people and companion animals. So, Vegans are interested in knowing what all food is made of and how our body chemistry reacts with it.

A Vegan Christmas Story for Children

St Hugh, Abbot of Cluny, is back! He always liked to visit his houses on foot, to make sure they are in order. But Britain has so far escaped his scrutiny, being too wet and windy for him, nor does he like travelling by boat. But he has been in heaven for over 900 years now, and has just mastered the art of walking on water. So, at long last, he has decided to pay a surprise visit to the Priory of St Pancras in Lewes for Christmas this year.
The Animals Around Us

At Home In Lewes and Surrounding Hills Animals cannot justify their existence by contributing to our diet, nor by providing alternative low carbon transport. They don't really do either of these things very well. They do not exist because of us, nor even despite us and our selective influences upon their genetic modification, but peacefully alongside us.
